History

Morgan Corp. began as Morgan Landscape Company in 1945. Its founder, Ladson Morgan, was a World War II veteran and native South Carolinian. Morgan Landscape Company offered ground clearing, repair, and site preparation to clients in and around Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Now known as Morgan Corp., Ladson Morgan’s modest company has evolved into a diversified heavy construction company with hundreds of employees. Morgan Corp. continues to grow, with offices in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, servicing projects across the entire Southeast Region.

Although Morgan Corp. is now one of the largest grading companies in the Southeast, it remains a family business. Stewart Johnson continues to oversee as Chairman of the Board. His two sons, David and Stewart Jr., serve as CEO and President of Equipment Division. Together, they work with the rest of the Morgan Corp. family towards a bright future, striving to uphold the company’s core values of safety, quality, and productivity.

Equipment

We're proud of our large fleet of modern construction equipment. Our upfront investment in time-tested and proven Caterpillar equipment, along with regular equipment rotation and a preventive maintenance program, ensures that we work harder and longer – with lower repair cost and more importantly, less downtime.

A Culture of Safety

Plan Safety, Get Results

Safety is a core value at Morgan Corp. The safety of our employees, clients, subcontractors, and vendors will never be compromised in the interest of time or profit.

Morgan Corp’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) department is lead by our Corporate Director of EH&S who reports, both organizationally and operationally, to our President. By design, the EH&S department does not report to any fully production-oriented position: assuring impartial direction and application of all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
